P6 visit the Workhouse and Ulster American Folk Park

To conclude their topic on ‘The Great Hunger 1845-1849’, P6 thoroughly enjoyed making History come alive with their visits to ‘The Workhouse’ at the Hill of O’Neill and The Ulster American Folk Park. These trips greatly enhanced their understanding of the novel Under the Hawthorn Tree and gave them a real insight into life in Ireland in the 1800’s.
