Just before lockdown, P6 had an enjoyable, informative morning at Ranfurly House and Dungannon Library where they were researching and learning about ‘The Workhouse’ during the Irish famine. Their study of the book ‘Under the Hawthorn Tree’ was truly brought to life by Mrs McKinley, the workhouse guardian who really brought the book to life by her enactment of life in the workhouse for the O’Driscoll children.
